A century-old castle on a small island, well-preserved and popular with tourists

On Gozo Island, Victoria Castle is undoubtedly an unparalleled landmark, known as the crown of Gozo Island. As a historical presence, this castle, built on the highest point of Gozo Island, is made entirely of the unique amber-colored stone of the area, which emits a warm and ancient glow in the sunlight. Every year, tourists flock to the castle, and it is not easy to capture a photo without others in it. I was lucky enough to find a secluded corner at lunchtime and found the right angle to take a picture. Victoria Castle is a fortress with a rich history. After hundreds of years of wind and rain, the castle has stood against many invasions and pirate attacks and is the protector of the people of Gozo Island. Standing on a corner of the castle, looking out at the endless ocean and the surrounding rolling greenery, you can almost hear the echoes of history. Although Gozo Island is not large, Victoria Castle is quite large. As the former royal capital, it was the center of power and culture, and therefore has a complex and diverse architectural style and structure. Walking through it, every stone seems to tell a story of the past. Unlike the regularity and coldness of modern architecture, every path and corner here exudes an unadorned natural beauty. I spent three hours touring the castle and still felt like I wanted more. Although it has long passed its heyday, every part of the castle still retains an ancient and solemn atmosphere. Especially the church, standing inside the castle, has stood the test of time and still stands proudly. They are the soul of the castle and a must-see attraction.
