Longju Temple in Guanghan

Address: Guanghan City, Sichuan Province Longju Temple, located in Hanzhou Street of Guanghan City, is 4.5 kilometers away from the city center and is the largest Buddhist tourist attraction in Guanghan. The temple was originally built in the middle of the Tang Dynasty by the eighth ancestor of the Zen Buddhism sect, Master Mazu Daoyi. It was rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty and has retained its name ever since. It was opened to the public in 1987. The temple now covers an area of over 40 acres, with the central hall being a Ming Dynasty structure, while the other buildings were constructed after the opening. Longju Temple is the largest and most distinctive Buddhist temple in Guanghan City, with a reasonable layout, complete functions, exquisite murals, numerous jade Buddhas, many pagodas, and unique features. In 2012, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
