Xiaozhou Village.

In 2021, I met a travel writer who had been to more than 70 countries on a teaching platform. Her name was Cha Mei. We went to Ali, Tibet together. After that, she went to Georgia to continue her world tour, and I went to Canada. Three years later, I was teaching in Leizhou, and she was visiting her family in Guangzhou. We met in Xiaozhou Village on the weekend to visit the teacher Chen we both admired. Walking into Xiaozhou Village is like walking into a folk museum. Ancient buildings such as the Jianfo Ancestral Hall and Dengying Wharf are well preserved, and century-old banyan trees can be seen everywhere. I finally saw the Xiaozhou River that appeared in my dreams many times. At night, residents sit along the river, drinking tea and chatting. Walking on the bluestone road polished by time, the strong artistic atmosphere and the human touch come from all directions. This is a place where people can easily settle down.
