This hotel is a must-stay in Haikou, great value for money!

Two years later, I returned to the Ritz-Carlton Haikou (review) I visited the Ritz-Carlton Haikou in 2023 and had a great impression of the hotel. In 2024, Typhoon Moke blew off the facade of the Ritz-Carlton building. I always wanted to see if this "old friend" had fully recovered, so I returned in 2025 for a reverse trip without getting up early. (The facade has been repaired) Overall, I can still give it 5 stars. The service is even better than two years ago, and the staff is noticeably more enthusiastic. The overall environment of the hotel is old money style, with dark tones and a quiet atmosphere. Check-in: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 They called a day in advance to ask about my check-in preferences. At check-in, the front desk was very enthusiastic, and they took the initiative to chat and introduce the hotel's facilities and activities. I used points to redeem a free room, and the front desk upgraded me to an executive room for free and gave me breakfast (✅ surprise +1). The doorman delivered my luggage to the room, and the whole check-in process was smooth. Room: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 and a half The room is 50 square meters, and the executive room is not larger than the king room, but it is on a higher floor with a better view. They gave me fruit and a handwritten card when they turned down the bed, which was a nice touch. The bed height is just right, and the bedding is up to Ritz-Carlton standards, making for a comfortable stay. Half a star is deducted for the non-smart toilet, but it's understandable for an old hotel. Dining: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 For dinner, I chose the semi-buffet + à la carte option at the Western restaurant. I recommend the pork chops and various desserts in the buffet area. For à la carte, I recommend the ✅ S-grade beef strips, sashimi, and pumpkin soup. Breakfast is in the same Western restaurant, and I recommend the various freshly made breads and eggs benedict. Hotel service and environment: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The overall atmosphere is quiet, and there are fewer people, making it suitable for a resort. Every staff member, every single one, will greet you proactively. Unfortunately, the pool is outdoors, and the weather was cold, so I couldn't experience it twice. However, there is an indoor hot spring pool + dry steam room next to the spa center, which is also very relaxing. Finally, let's talk about the drawbacks: ❌ The hotel is in a remote location, only suitable for relaxing, not for sightseeing, as it is far from the core attractions of Haikou. Two years ago, there was a duty-free shop in Mission Hills, but now it has closed down, and the overall popularity of Mission Hills is very low. The occupancy rate of the nearby community is low, and apart from Feng Xiaogang's Movie Town and the hotel's golf course, there is nowhere else to go.
