Climb Leifeng Pagoda in the Year of the Snake, See the "Legend of the White Snake" Wood Carving

Leifeng Pagoda in Hangzhou is the first copper pagoda in China. It is one of the few attractions in Hangzhou that requires a ticket and is a top 3 must-visit for many people. Leifeng Pagoda was first built in 977 and is also known as the Imperial Concubine Pagoda or the Xiguan Brick Pagoda. Although the elevator takes away some of the ancient charm of climbing the pagoda, the protective cover on the pagoda base protects the remains of the old pagoda. For CNY 40, you can overlook West Lake. On the second floor, there is a Dongyang wood carving of the Legend of the White Snake, which uses stacked carving techniques to create a detailed and lifelike work. The third floor has a poetry exhibition, and the fourth floor has Ou-style sculptures. As a child, I only knew that Xu Shilin's filial piety to his mother was touching, but as an adult, I realized that this is the weight of a top scholar!
