Liangzhu Museum

Liangzhu Museum covers an area of more than 40,000 square meters, with a building area of 10,000 square meters. It is a social science archaeological museum and a national first-class museum, which was first opened to the public in September 2008. Liangzhu Museum was upgraded from the Liangzhu Culture Museum. In May 1990, the construction of the Liangzhu Culture Museum was put on the agenda. In September 1991, the Yuhang County Cultural Bureau began preparations for the Liangzhu Culture Museum. In September 2008, it was renamed Liangzhu Museum. On September 29, 2008, Liangzhu Museum was opened to the public. In August 2017, based on the latest archaeological findings of the Liangzhu site and Liangzhu culture, the basic exhibition of Liangzhu Museum was upgraded. In June 2018, it was reopened to the public. The museum exhibits more than 600 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics from the Liangzhu culture period, including jade, stone, pottery, and lacquered wood. In June 2022, Liangzhu Museum was included in the 2021 Zhejiang Museum (Memorial Hall) Directory. On May 18, 2024, Liangzhu Museum was rated as a national first-class museum. The visit takes about two hours.
