Hangzhou’s trendiest hotel - Canopy by Hilton

Many new hotels in China are located far from the city centre, however, not the Canopy in Hangzhou. It is located just a 5 minute walk from the West Lake and some of the key shopping streets. On arrival in the hotel we were notified our room was not ready. We were offered a drink in the bar whilst we waited and reception looked after our bags. On returning we were given our room keys and found a very orange but stylish room with a view of the lake in the distance. The room was incredibly clean and the bath was huge. The whole hotel gives out a cool bar vibe. The lobby is filled with neon lights and music. After getting settled into our room we went for a short evening walk to see some temples and the lake in Hangzhou. We got back late, around 9pm and used the two free drink vouchers to get a cocktail. The uniqueness of this property, the distance from the major attractions and the service offerings such as free drinks made this one of our favourite stays of the year.
