You can easily find this cafe all over the larger cities of Vietnam like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi (they have many branches). The word “cong” means communal or public and reminds of the Viet Cong (Vietnam War era guerillas) or Cong San (communist). The first cong caphe store is open in 2007, located at Trieu Viet Vuong street in Hanoi City.
