Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Nha Trang, Vietnam Thành Phố Nha Trang

The Thang Long Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, not far from Hoan Kiem Lake in the old city center. During the Jiaozhi period, it was a fortress in the Red River Delta. After the independence of the Dai Viet Kingdom, it gradually became the center of political power, with a history of nearly a thousand years through the four dynasties of Ly, Tran, Le, and Nguyen. Currently, only a few buildings on the central axis of the imperial city remain, most of which were restored in the late Nguyen Dynasty, when Vietnam was already colonized by France. The name Thang Long originated from the Ly Dynasty a thousand years ago. The image of the dragon was influenced by the Han culture in the north, so much so that stone dragons were carved on both sides of the steps of the main hall, and many dragon-related objects are displayed in the main hall museum. Of course, the essence of Confucianism in Han culture has also penetrated into the education of the Vietnamese people. They also had the imperial examination system, and the Temple of Literature, or the Imperial Academy, is located near the imperial city.
