Heihe Overview

Heihe is located in the northeastern border of China, in the north of Heilongjiang Province. It is a prefecture-level city with a permanent population of over 1.2 million. Heihe City is separated from the third largest city in the Russian Far East, Blagoveshchensk, by the Heilongjiang River. It is the only pair of corresponding cities on the Sino-Russian border with the largest scale, highest specifications, most complete functions, and closest distance. Heihe City is bordered by Yichun City and Suihua City to the southeast, adjacent to Qiqihar City to the southwest, separated from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region by the Nenjiang River to the west, connected to the Daxinganling Region to the north, and separated from the Russian Amur Region by the Heilongjiang River to the northeast. Heihe City is rich in cultural resources, with physical types such as the ruins of the ancient city of Aihui, the ruins of the ancient city of the Jin Dynasty, the ruins of the Sunwu War, the ruins of historical figures, and ethnic customs. Heihe City is one of the first batch of border opening cities in China, an important city for trade with Russia in Heilongjiang Province, and a tourist city with a vast territory, superior location, rich resources, and beautiful environment. The Russian city across the Heilongjiang River from Heihe City is Blagoveshchensk, also known as Hailanpao.
