Hengdaohezi, a century-old town, carries rich history and Russian cultural heritage. The construction and development of the Middle East Railway enabled this town to achieve qualitative development after 1903. There are no high-rise buildings here. They are built against the mountains. The rows of one- and two-story houses are full of historical traces. The charm of the Russian-style old streets and old houses is vaguely visible. People visit the locomotive depot with emotion, pursue the China-Eastern Railway, and immerse themselves in Russian beer, ice cream, sour Russian bread, purple candy and other delicacies. There are many places with good views in the town where young students sketch and paint. Halfway up the slope leading to the church, there are red and yellow flowers blooming, and a cello stands among the flowers. The slanting sunlight shines on the yellow and white walls of the house, making it look particularly bright. The Immaculate Conception Church has now become the China Eastern Railway Memory Museum. The peculiar shape on the top of the church is very attractive. A pair of huge Russian matryoshka dolls stand beside the road and are very popular. The carriage labeled "Train B&B" is 50 meters long and connects two Russian-style buildings. I experienced the state of "stealing half a day's leisure" there. There are still more than 250 Russian-style buildings built from 1901 to 1905, each of which records historical stories. For example, the Church of the Entrance of the Virgin Mary was the site of the Japanese invasion of China from August 19 to 22, 1945 (the Fifth Army) surrendered in Hailin. Such scenes are truly fascinating. Standing on one side of the main street, looking forward, backward, left and right, every angle is a piece of solidified oil paintings scattered in the town!
