Hengyang, the only city in China named in memory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression|||1️⃣ Hengyang is the only city in China named in memory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. To commemorate the Battle of Hengyang, a memorial was built in 1946, including a memorial stele, memorial hall, memorial archway, memorial pavilion, and a pavilion of loyalty and courage. Next to the memorial pavilion is the "Hengyang Memorial Stele Inscription" written by Zhang Shizhao. 2️⃣ The memorial hall is located next to the memorial stele, on a high platform. The hall was completed in 1995 and is divided into four exhibition halls: "Strategic City," "City of Righteousness," "Tragic City," and "Heroic City." The heroic actions and fearless spirit of the people of Hengyang will leave you deeply moved. 3️⃣ At the south gate of the park is the Yude Hall Memorial Archway, built in the 25th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. The archway has six pillars and five gates, and two pairs of stone lions on the south side. The archway was originally located in front of Yude Hall of Huayao Temple in the northwest of Yueping Mountain, and was moved to its current location in 1953.
