Ulan Butong: A Winter Wonderland

Harbin is a beautiful city, but Ulan Butong is a winter wonderland. You should visit Inner Mongolia twice in your life: once in the summer to see the flowers, and once in the winter to see the snow. Ulan Butong is a fairytale world of ice and snow, especially around Christmas. 4-Day Ulan Butong Itinerary Overview • Night 1: Take a train from Beijing to Chifeng and stay near the station. • Day 1: Head to Ulan Butong Film Base in the morning. This is where many classic TV shows were filmed, such as Kangxi Dynasty and My Fair Princess. In the afternoon, head to Princess Lake to see the elk and take photos of the snow. At sunset, head to Baijiawopu to see the orange sunset. • Day 2: Get up early to see the water freeze in the air. The hotel provides hot water for photos. In the afternoon, take a camel sled ride and go snow tubing. • Day 3: Head to the Unfrozen River and Nuanshui River at 9 am. In the afternoon, head to Hamu Valley to see the snow-covered trees. • Day 4: Head back at 9 am. Stop at the wind farm for photos. In the afternoon, return to Chifeng and stay at a hotel.
