Hong Kong Couples' New Hiking Adventure! Romantic Shing Mun Reservoir.

This year, I plan to get fit with my partner and have collected many hiking and trekking routes in Hong Kong. For a hiking beginner like me, the Shing Mun Reservoir route, which has no elevation gain, is simply a lifesaver! The entire route takes about 3 hours to complete, with plenty of beautiful waterside spots to relax, rest, and take photos. There are many rest areas, but there are also quite a few monkeys 🐒. The area features streams, forests, and waterlogged Melaleuca trees, offering a rich variety of scenery. 🚇 Transportation is very convenient. Take a bus from Sha Tin Station to Ho Fung College, and on the way back, there's a minibus that goes directly to Tsuen Wan MTR Station. In the afternoon, you can stroll around Tsuen Wan and grab a bite to eat. ✔ Remember to bring 2 bottles of water and some food, as there are no supply points along the way. There are restrooms midway. 🚶♂️ Route: Start from Ho Fung College Station - Shing Mun Country Park Minibus Station, either clockwise or counterclockwise. I chose clockwise 👉 Butterfly Garden - Waterside Melaleuca - Tai Shing Stream - Half Leisure Pavilion - Enjoyment Terrace - Shing Mun Reservoir Main Dam. Sunlight sparkles on the water, and we even encountered wild cattle. The streamside feels like a fairyland. Entering the forest on the left, it's very quiet and pleasant. Many people walk their dogs along the way, and some even walk their parrots. However, there are really a lot of monkeys, especially at rest points. Do not bring plastic bags and be careful not to have your food snatched! Couples, come and check in, and enjoy a romantic outdoor time together!
