The splendor of the Huzhou Nanxun Hilton Hotel is hard to conceal, even with its attempt to blend into the vast wetlands of southern China

Its near-perfect spherical exterior, glowing radiantly at night, stands out amidst the natural landscape. The interior of the building is completely hollow, forming a complete sphere. The lobby is situated above a five-story platform, with five high-speed elevators whizzing up and down the atrium, offering different perspectives of the wonderfully stacked circular layers. The guest rooms are distributed along the outer ring of each floor, making each room unique with varying views from the windows. Grateful for the generous hotel management team, who are almost always accommodating. I was upgraded to the coveted Suite 03, with its spacious interior and large circular bathtub, especially fond of the diagonally placed large bed in the bedroom, perfect for lounging and watching the misty rain outside the window. The executive lounge is located on the top floor, offering a spacious view. Unfortunately, the current view outside the window is limited to fields and distant construction sites. According to the lounge staff, this area has big plans and will be beautiful in the future. The afternoon tea and happy hour may not have a wide variety, but they offer solid choices like chicken, duck, fish, and meat, with attentive and personalized service in a quiet and uncrowded setting. The fitness center and swimming pool are a bit of a letdown, squeezed into a corner on the first floor with limited space. However, it's understandable that tourists coming here would have many other worthwhile activities to spend their time on, leading to lower usage rates and consequently smaller facilities. The most valuable waste of time is watching the big ball change costumes in the evening, with the best viewing angle from the hotel's main entrance to the bridge. At this time, the night is like water, with thousands of lights dancing and pouring into the lake, creating a serene and exquisite scene. Even if you don't stay here, it's worth coming to see at night. Breakfast the next day is arranged on the fifth floor restaurant. Although it's not to my taste, I must say the Jiangnan specialties are very distinctive, with local dishes like pan-fried buns and smoked fish noodles satisfying the uncles and aunts from the metropolis. Tips: The most convenient way to get to the hotel is by driving or taking a taxi. Taking a taxi from the hotel to the ancient town is better, costing less than 15 yuan one way. Additionally, there are shared electric bikes not far from the hotel across the bridge, which you can ride all the way to the ancient town. In the past two years, the newly opened Hiltons have stepped up their game, and here's my personal top five ranking: Nanxun, Shigatse, Niushoushan in Nanjing, Chongqing Liangjiang, and Shunde.
