I Bet You’ve Never Seen an Island Like Iceland in Brown and Orange 🍊

#magicalxmastrip #iceland Iceland isn’t just a land of glaciers and waterfalls—sometimes, it looks like a living, breathing painting with shades of brown and orange splashed across its rugged terrain. From volcanic lava fields to geothermal hot springs, Iceland’s landscape feels like it’s been dipped in vibrant, fiery hues. One of the best places to experience these colors is Landmannalaugar, located in the Icelandic Highlands. Known for its rhyolite mountains, the area is a painter’s dream, where the volcanic peaks change colors from earthy brown to fiery orange under the right light. These hues are created by the minerals in the soil, giving the landscape an almost surreal, otherworldly look. Hiking here feels like walking through a giant abstract painting, with every turn offering new splashes of color and texture. Then, there’s the Þjórsárdalur Valley, where volcanic ash and lava flows have created stunning orange-colored rock formations. This valley is dotted with both moss-covered landscapes and brown-hued hills, offering a striking contrast to Iceland’s more famous icy terrains. Let’s not forget Geysir, the geothermal area where bubbling hot springs and erupting geysers add a pop of orange to the earthy browns of the surrounding rocks. The contrast between the geothermal activity and the earthy landscape makes for a visual feast that’s as hot as it is beautiful. Iceland’s brown and orange landscapes aren’t just visually stunning—they’re a reminder that nature’s palette is full of surprises.

Thi highlands of Iceland is always a majestic place. Come here for hikes and hot springs and adventures. Best time is summer or just when the snow is gone.

Hiking in Iceland is really unique. If you ever go to Landmannalaugar you have to go up the Bláhnúkur mountain. After that you can relax at the hot springs down in the camp.
