Istanbul: The Crossroads of East and West.

I spent a day visiting Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace to see the Ottoman Empire's palaces and Byzantine architecture. As I stepped into Hagia Sophia and walked around the building, I couldn't help but feel a strange sensation thinking that the Eastern Roman emperors and Ottoman sultans might have gazed upon this very structure just like I was. The tiles in the rooms where the sultans' consorts spent their time in Topkapi Palace were absolutely beautiful.
