Nagoya Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens

As a student at Nagoya University, I often visit the Nagoya Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens due to its proximity. I highly recommend this slightly off-the-beaten-path tourist option. It's just a 5-minute walk from the Nagoya Higashiyama Park subway station. This zoo is truly the best value I've ever seen. It features everything from birds of prey to reptiles, from the cool snow leopards to the adorable red pandas. Not to mention the Skytower, which offers a panoramic view of Nagoya, and a small lake where you can go boating! The site also includes a lush botanical garden filled with fresh oxygen and a cleverly designed, albeit not too thrilling, small amusement park. All of this for just 500 yen! For 500 yen, you can't go wrong!
