Which side of Hukou Waterfall is better, Shanxi or Shaanxi? Without a doubt, the Shanxi side is better for three main reasons: 1. Scenery: The Shanxi side is closer to the main waterfall (Point A in P2), which is the essence of Hukou Waterfall. When the water is high, the Shaanxi side doesn't allow access to the main waterfall, so you can only see the smaller waterfall (Point B in P2), which has much less water. 2. Time: The shuttle bus from the parking lot on the Shanxi side is only 3 km, while the Shaanxi side is 10 km. Honestly, I can't figure out why it's so far away. 3. Cost: Both sides have a ticket price of CNY 100, but the shuttle bus on the Shaanxi side is much further, costing CNY 40, while the Shanxi side is only CNY 20, half the price. In fact, you can tell just by looking at the number of people in the picture. There are obviously more people on the Shanxi side than on the Shaanxi side, which is the result of people voting with their feet. However, I didn't end up going to the Shanxi side because there was a traffic jam, so I chose to watch from the Yellow River No. 1 Road on the Shaanxi side. Actually, the best way to see Hukou Waterfall is by drone. As long as you don't crash, it's basically free. You don't have to squeeze with other people, and the view is even more spectacular than standing on the shore. Attraction Introduction Hukou Waterfall is the second largest waterfall in China. The drop is not very large, but the 300-meter-wide Yellow River upstream is compressed to just over 20 meters here, creating the natural wonder of "the Yellow River in a pot."
