Jiayuguan

The First and Greatest Pass under Heaven - 'Jiayuguan' is located in the narrowest part of the valley 5 kilometers west of Jiayuguan City in Gansu Province. The city walls on both sides of the pass stretch across the desert and Gobi, connecting to the Heishan Great Wall in the north and the First Beacon Tower in the south. It is the western starting point of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty and is the most spectacular and well-preserved ancient military fortress along the Ming Great Wall due to its strategic location and majestic architecture. Known as the key to the border, it holds significant historical importance. Walking on the stone paths of the Ming Dynasty, looking up at the solid stone walls and towering watchtowers, one feels as if they have traveled through history, and can't help but marvel at the wisdom and courage of the ancients.
