Lingyan Temple Scenic Area is located in Wande Subdistrict, Changqing District, Jinan City. You can get there by following the navigation. It is recommended to go on weekends, not on holidays, as you may get stuck in traffic. Lingyan Temple is a national scenic spot and a Buddhist holy place, with Jinan to the north and Mount Tai to the south. There is a saying that "a trip to Mount Tai is not complete without a visit to Lingyan Temple." Lingyan Temple was first built in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. After several reconstructions and repairs, it reached its peak in the Tang Dynasty. Lingyan Temple is one of the four famous temples in China, along with Qixia Temple in Nanjing, Guoqing Temple in Tiantai, Zhejiang, and Yuquan Temple in Dangyang, Hubei. Tang Xuanzang once translated Buddhist scriptures here, and emperors of all dynasties often came here to worship when they went to Mount Tai to offer sacrifices to heaven. The main attractions of Lingyan Temple include Pizhi Pagoda, Qianfo Hall, etc. The main Buddhist culture is mainly concentrated at the foot of the mountain, with pagodas, forests, trees, and halls. Among them, Pizhi Pagoda is very representative. You can turn left three times and then right three times, and silently pray in your heart. There are many places to park on the way up the mountain. It is recommended not to drive into the scenic area. You can park outside and walk up to enjoy the unique scenery along the road. The main scenic area takes 2 hours to visit. If you want to go to the top of the mountain, you need to reserve another 2 hours. These two hours are mainly along the mountain road, with no special scenery, but after reaching the top, you can look south to Mount Tai and enjoy a wider view. A very nice place worth visiting.
