Jinghong·Manting Park - The best of Xishuangbanna.

On our last day in Jinghong, we arrived early at Manting Park in the old town. Manting Park means "Soul Garden". Jinghong used to be the center of the Dai settlement area. The ancient Dai king lived here, and Manting Park was the royal garden of the Dai king. It has a history of more than 1,300 years and is the oldest park in Xishuangbanna. Even in the whole country, there are not many gardens with such a history. Manting Park has small bridges and flowing water, beautiful lakes, towering ancient trees, and exotic flowers. It is a perfect tropical garden. There is also a primitive tropical rainforest for people to experience the wild, and several lotus ponds make people feel like they are in a Buddhist world. Manting Park also has beautiful animal performances, one is in the Parrot Garden, and the other is in the Elephant Garden. The small parrots and the tall elephants, two animals with huge differences, can perform interesting performances under human domestication, especially elephants. It can be said that it is the most worthwhile animal to watch in Xishuangbanna and even Yunnan. This is also the only place in China where elephants are distributed. Manting Park also has many cultural landscapes, such as the Premier Bronze Statue Square where Premier Zhou celebrated the Water-Splashing Festival with Dai compatriots, the imitation Dai King's Palace, and the Xishuangbanna General Buddha Temple adjacent to Manting Park. This is a very important temple in Southeast Asia and also the place we will visit next. In general, a ticket of only 40 yuan allows us to enjoy all the animal and plant resources, natural scenery and cultural customs of Xishuangbanna in a few hours. Manting Park is a must-see in Xishuangbanna. If you are just passing by Jinghong and can only visit one place, then Manting Park is definitely the first choice.
