Why is the mount of Samantabhadra at Jinxin Temple a golden-haired lion?

Guanyin Bodhisattva, Manjusri Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva each have a mount: a golden-haired lion, a green lion, and a white elephant. These mounts come from the three disciples of the Tongtian Jiaozhu: Jinguang Xian, Qiushou Xian, and Lingya Xian. In the mythological story "The Investiture of the Gods," the legendary process of subduing these three is recorded in detail. Samantabhadra Zhenren broke the "Two Elements Formation" set up by Lingya Xian, forcing Lingya Xian to reveal his true form, transforming into a mighty white elephant, and was taken as a mount by Samantabhadra Zhenren. This Samantabhadra Zhenren is the predecessor of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Cihang Daoren broke Jinguang Xian's "Four Elements Formation," causing him to revert to his original form, becoming a golden-haired lion, and was taken as a mount. Cihang Daoren is the Guanyin Bodhisattva known to later generations. Manjusri Guangfa Tianzun broke Qiushou Xian's "Taiji Formation," revealing the original form of the green lion, and was subdued as a mount by Manjusri Guangfa Tianzun. Manjusri Guangfa Tianzun is Manjusri Bodhisattva.
