Saga 🇯🇵 Treasure Shrine

Hoto Shrine is a shrine located on Takashima, a platform-shaped island about 3 kilometers near Karatsu. It is said that Hoto Shrine was originally built to commemorate Takashima's heroic figure "Nozaki Oki Mori Tsunayoshi". Because Nozaki stood up to fight off pirates 400 years ago to protect Takashima, he was regarded as "Treasure of Toshima" by the residents. Hence the name of the shrine: Hoto Shrine. The patron saint of Hoto Shrine is the tomb of Nozaki Oki Mori Tsunayoshi, which was built in Japan's Meiwa 5th year (1768). The "宝" in Baodang can be interpreted as "宝lot" in Japanese, which means drawing lots, and "dang" means winning a prize in Japanese.
