Keelung’s historical building—shipyard

The Agena Shipyard Relics is a structure located in Zhongzheng District, Keelung City, Taiwan. It was originally a loading dock for mineral transportation. It was used by the Agena Shipyard until 1966 and related shipbuilding facilities were built. Some reinforced concrete overhanging structures It has survived to this day and was registered as a historical building in Keelung City in 2016. The original site of the Agena Shipyard was the Bachimen Charcoal Storage Yard established in 1919 to store the coal mined by Huang Dongmao at the Shen'aokeng Fuzhen Coal Mine. In 1936, Nippon Mining Co., Ltd. established the mining railways of Shen'ao Line and Jinguashi Line, and the following year established Taiwan Mining Co., Ltd. to operate the mining area of ​​Jinguashi. The minerals mined from Jinguashih are transported to Sunamdong Station via an aerial ropeway, and then transported from Sunamdong Station to Bachimen Station via the Jinguashi Line, and finally loaded for export from the loading dock next to Bachimen Station.
