Wieliczka and Bochnia Royal Salt Mines (Wieliczka and Bochnia Salt Mine)

Wieliczka and Bochnia Royal Salt Mines (Wieliczka and Bochnia Salt Mine) Wieliczka is a national treasure of Poland with historical, cultural, and religious significance. It is also an important cultural heritage site of UNESCO. The mine was developed in the 13th century and has nine layers, with a depth of 325 meters and a passage length of 250 kilometers. According to legend, the Hungarian Princess Kinga, who married the Grand Duke of Krakow, threw a gold ring to trigger the mining of salt (Figure 3); Emperor Casimir's loan policy for mining led to rapid development (Figure 4); the salt sculptures in the hall of the mine (The Last Supper), Pope John Paul II, etc. are lifelike (Figures 5-7); the underground salt lake is like a sky lake (Figure 8); Copernicus was the first batch of visitors to the salt mine (Figure 9).
