Navigate to South Dianchi Lake Beach Parking Lot 2, and you'll see the beach after a 5-minute walk. It's an hour's drive from the city, so driving is the best option. There's only one food stall in the scenic area, and it was closed every time I went. It's best to bring your own food or eat nearby. There are many strawberry farms around, so you can go strawberry picking. There's also the popular Whale Island nearby, which you can visit if you have time. You can only take side photos of it from the beach. Many people complain because they didn't have good weather. On a sunny day at 10 am, South Dianchi Lake will amaze you. It feels like you're in a coastal city, and the water is very blue even with a regular camera. The wind is really strong and can give you a headache. The wind is strong in all the waterside areas of Kunming!
