The observatory is located near the summit of Washuzan, a representative scenic spot of Setonaikai National Park and a nationally designated scenic beauty. There are two observatories near the Washuzan Rest House and the Washuzan Visitor Center. It is a popular viewing spot where you can see the tranquil islands of the Seto Inland Sea, the magnificent Seto Ohashi Bridge, and even Shikoku on the opposite shore. It has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Sunset Spots for its superb sunset views. Access About 30 minutes by Shimotsui Circular Bus from JR Kojima Station, get off at Washuzan Second Observatory, and walk about 5 minutes.
