Tower of Yasaka

Yasaka Pagoda (aka Hokan-ji Temple) is one of the iconic structures in Kyoto. It is a five-story buddhist temple dating back to the 6th or 7th century. We visited in the evening when there are fewer tourists around, but still found lots of people at the best photo spots taking pictures with the pagoda. It is still worth wandering around the alleys nearby - there are small izakayas, sake bars, and coffee shops around to explore while getting different perspectives of this beautiful historical landmark. #timetotravel #japan #kyoto
