Here’s how my day at Lake Como unfolded and why it’s a must-visit for anyone exploring Italy. Morning: Arrival at Lake Como We arrived at the town of Como early in the morning, greeted by the serene waters of the lake glistening under the sunlight. The first thing that struck me was how peaceful and picturesque the setting was, with pastel-colored villas lining the shores and snow-capped mountains in the distance. We started our day with a stroll through the charming streets of Como, stopping by the stunning Como Cathedral (Duomo di Como)—a masterpiece of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. A quick coffee and pastry at a local café fueled us for the adventures ahead. Midday: Exploring Bellagio – The Pearl of the Lake No trip to Lake Como is complete without visiting Bellagio, often referred to as the “Pearl of the Lake.” We hopped on a ferry, enjoying breathtaking views during the ride. Bellagio’s cobbled streets, lush gardens, and boutique shops were a delight to explore. For lunch, we dined at a lakeside trattoria, savoring fresh pasta and sipping on local wine while soaking in the panoramic views. Evening: A Sunset Stroll in Varenna Before heading back, we stopped by Varenna, a quieter but equally beautiful village on the lake’s eastern shore. The town’s colorful houses, winding alleys, and flower-filled balconies were straight out of a postcard. We ended the day with a sunset stroll along the Passeggiata degli Innamorati (Lovers’ Walk), where the golden hues of the setting sun reflected off the water, creating a magical atmosphere
