Revisiting Zhongshan Bridge, ascending Baita Mountain again, overlooking the bend of the Yellow River

Lanzhou, Langao, Jincheng, the Yellow River flows from southwest to northeast, traversing the entire territory, cutting through mountains. During the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Longxi Commandery. Lanzhou is located at the crossroads of the great Northwest, an important node on the Silk Road, and the largest railway network in the Northwest region. The Yellow River Iron Bridge is located at the foot of Baita Mountain in the north of the city, in front of Jincheng Pass, known as the first bridge over the Yellow River. Before the iron bridge was built, there was a pontoon bridge crossing the Yellow River here. Baita Mountain Park is located by the Yellow River and is named after a white pagoda from the Yuan Dynasty on the top of the mountain. Baita Mountain embraces Jincheng, and the white pagoda was built to commemorate a Tibetan Sakya Lama. On this trip to Qinghai-Tibet-Gansu, when returning from Lhasa, I took the train via the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Originally, I could have gone directly back to Xi'an, but I really wanted to come back to Lanzhou to have a look. I lived here for a while when I was a child. Baita Mountain, Yellow River Bridge, Wusun Mountain, Qili River, Yantan, Dongfanghong Square, Wudu Road, Jinta Road Primary School, as well as Bailan melons and Dongguo pears, the memories of taking the train in that era are still vivid. From Lanzhou West Station, I first took a bus to the Yellow River Iron Bridge, the most familiar place nearby, then took a taxi to the hotel for check-in, Hyatt Hotel Lanzhou, which is also the best hotel in Lanzhou. The next day, I went to visit the Gansu Provincial Museum and gained a lot of understanding of history and culture. On the third day, I checked out at noon, took a taxi to the Yellow River Iron Bridge, and then climbed Baita Mountain to see the familiar scenes again. A wonderful journey.
