Qiandongnan Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village

Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village in Qiandongnan Prefecture is one of the most famous tourist hotspots in Guizhou Province. We believed that there wouldn't be a crowd in winter, so we chose to visit in February. The cold air from the north arrived there before us, bringing heavy snow that covered the Miao Village scenic area. Due to the low number of tourists, the west gate of the scenic area was closed, and we had to enter and exit through the north gate. The off-season ticket price for Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is 70 yuan per person, and the peak season price is 90 yuan per person. The sightseeing bus costs 5 yuan per ride, and the parking fee is 20 yuan. It is about 1.5 kilometers from the north gate of the scenic area to the entrance of the Miao Village. The village has roads paved with bluestone, wide streets, numerous shops and restaurants, and plenty of hotels and inns. The level of commercialization was completely beyond our expectations. The image in our minds of a village surrounded by green mountains and clear waters, with Miao people diligently managing their lives, dressed in traditional costumes and happily walking through ancient streets and alleys, was vastly different from the reality before us. After development and improvement, Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is no longer primitive; it is both modern and quaint, and can still be described as beautiful. The reconstructed wooden buildings retain the original style of the Miao Village. Both local and non-local business people are hospitable, making it one of the tourist attractions in Guizhou.
