The Leshan Giant Buddha scenic area is located southeast of the central urban area of Leshan City, Sichuan Province, at the confluence of the Minjiang River, Dadu River, and Qingyi River. The Leshan Giant Buddha is 71 meters tall and took 90 years to complete, and it has a history of over 1,300 years. In 1996, the Mount Emei-Leshan Giant Buddha scenic area was approved by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site.
