In the end, I chose to welcome the first ray of sunshine in the morning on Xilian Island. The magnificent scenery, the silhouette of the reefs, and the locals going out to sea to fish all gave me unexpected surprises. A young lady I met on the trip chose a homestay on the other side of Xilian Island and also lived comfortably. The owner even lent her an electric bike so she could roam freely on the island. Although locals had previously suggested staying near Xugou because it was convenient for living, I ultimately chose this ocean view homestay near Lian Island to pursue the beautiful moments of sunrise and sunset, considering transportation factors. This trip not only allowed me to appreciate the coastal scenery of Lianyungang but also allowed me to experience a different kind of tranquility and comfort.
