Confucian Temple

Linyi Confucian Temple, also known as "Linyi Wen Temple," is located in Lanshan Street, Linyi City, Shandong Province. It was built in the Jin Dynasty and rebuilt and expanded in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In 1998, the Linyi Municipal Government completed the restoration project, which is managed and operated by the Linyi Museum. Linyi Confucian Temple is now a group of ancient buildings in the Ming and Qing styles. The whole building is rectangular, 155 meters long from north to south, 45 meters wide from east to west, and covers a total area of 6,975 square meters. Along the central axis from south to north, there are the front gate, two corridors, a stele gallery, Dacheng Hall, and Minglun Hall, with statues of Confucius, four companions, and twelve philosophers. The cultural relics in the temple provide a large amount of physical data for the study of ancient Chinese politics, economy, military, culture, and other aspects. It is not far from Linyi Museum, diagonally opposite the former residence of Wang Xizhi, and is open to the public for free.
