DoubleTree by Hilton London Excel

Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton London Excel, and I thought it was worth sharing my experience. The hotel is located at 2 Festoon Way Royal Victoria Dock, close to the DLR railway service station, making it convenient to get around. Although it's a 45-minute drive from the city center, public transport is quite convenient. The hotel's location is more suitable for budget travelers than hotels in the city center. Although it's close to London City Airport, flights are closed from 10:30 pm to 7:30 am, so it won't affect your rest. When I checked in, the front desk staff was warm and attentive, and they even gave me a delicious chocolate cookie, which was a really nice touch. However, I was a little disappointed that there was no lounge and no upgrade for Platinum members. Overall, the room was quite spacious, and the bed was comfortable, but the pillows were small and hard. The room facilities were adequate, but there was no fridge or toothbrush, so you may need to bring your own. The bathroom was large, but the shower area design was a bit unreasonable, as it didn't seem to make full use of the space. The air conditioning in the hotel was a bit difficult to adjust, which could be improved. There are plenty of restaurants worth exploring nearby, such as Kinaara, Moira Restaurant, and Haidilao Hot Pot, all of which have good reviews. The hotel is also close to the convention center and the O2 Arena, making it a convenient choice for business trips or concerts. Of course, there are some minor drawbacks, such as the hotel being a bit old and the elevators needing maintenance. The breakfast selection was quite varied, with several juices receiving high praise, but some of the bread was a bit stale. However, the overall dining experience was good, although I wouldn't recommend the steak for dinner, but there are other options. Overall, the DoubleTree by Hilton London Excel is a good choice, especially as the price is relatively reasonable, and the service and facilities meet Hilton's standards. If the price is right in the future, I would be happy to stay here again. I recommend booking early to enjoy better rooms and services. 😊
