Laojun Mountain, where my wish came true

1. First time at Laojun Mountain Laojun Mountain is located in Luanchuan County, Luoyang, Henan Province, and is a famous Taoist holy site. I chose to visit in autumn, when the mountain is covered with red leaves and shrouded in mist, as if I were in a fairyland. 2. Transportation and tickets From Luoyang, you can take a direct bus to Laojun Mountain for CNY 50, which is convenient and fast. The entrance fee is CNY 100, with a half-price discount for students, which is very cost-effective. There are two cable cars in the scenic area, Yunjing Cable Car and Zhongling Cable Car. I recommend Yunjing Cable Car because it is close to the core scenic area. 3. Tour route Uphill route • Ticket gate - Yunjing Cable Car: Take a sightseeing bus to the cable car station, which costs CNY 10. • Yunjing Cable Car - Zhongtian Gate: The cable car ride takes about 15 minutes, and you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the mountains. • Zhongtian Gate - Shili Huaping: Take the wooden walkway on the right side of the mountain, which takes about 2 hours, and the scenery along the way is picturesque. • Shili Huaping - Golden Summit: Continue on, where you can see the sea of clouds, sunrise, and other beautiful scenery. Downhill route • Golden Summit - Nantian Gate: Start from the Golden Summit Taoist Temple and return to Nantian Gate along the way. • Nantian Gate - Fenglin Cable Car: You can take the Fenglin Cable Car down the mountain to save energy. 4. Accommodation and dining There are various accommodation options on the mountain. There are hotels near Zhongtian Gate, which are in good condition and reasonably priced. There is also accommodation around Laojun Temple on the top of the mountain, but the conditions are slightly worse, suitable for tourists who want to see the sunrise. The food in the scenic area is expensive, so it is recommended to bring some snacks and water. 5. Photography and experience The night view of Laojun Mountain is very beautiful, and the lights are on at 7 pm and 3 am, which is a good time to take night photos. In addition, the sunrise and sea of clouds at the Golden Summit are not to be missed, so it is recommended to stay overnight on the mountain. 6. Personal feelings The natural beauty of Laojun Mountain is intoxicating, especially the sunrise and sea of clouds at the Golden Summit, which make you feel like you are in a fairyland.
