The 'Potala Palace' of the Yi people—Chengzi Ancient Village. It is said that this ancient village was the site of the ancient Ziqi Kingdom a thousand years ago, and the remnants of the earthen city walls still stand at the entrance of the village. During the Ming Dynasty, in the Chenghua period, the local earth prefect 'Angui' built his own yamen here, changing the name from Baishao (the old name of Chengzi Village) to 'Yongan Prefecture', which led to the large-scale development of the local earth buildings, forming the pattern of a prefectural city, and making Chengzi one of the political, economic, and cultural centers of southeastern Yunnan at that time. 'Your rooftop, my courtyard' is the biggest feature of Chengzi Ancient Village. There are more than 1,000 of these 'earth buildings' in the village. They are built against the mountain, interconnected vertically and horizontally, and are known by the locals as 'the Potala Palace of Luxi', and are considered a living fossil of Yunnan residential architecture.
