My Life FIRST | The Exquisite Shengshui Temple (Free Attraction in Mianyang)

📍Attraction Address: No. 357, North Section of Changhong Avenue, Fucheng District, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province 🚗Transportation to Attraction: Take bus No. 8 or 33 and get off at Shengshui Temple 👍️Must-Visit Attraction: Shengshui Temple is located next to Luohan Temple in the north section of Changhong Avenue, Fucheng District. It covers an area of 0.0866 square kilometers and is a Buddhist holy land on the opposite side of the Fujiang River, providing a place for tourists to admire, offer incense, and rest. Shengshui Temple, with its temples and Buddha statues as the main features, is situated in the Tazishan Scenic Area on the right bank of the Fujiang River to the west of Mianyang City. The mountain has a spring that has been famous since ancient times as the 'Dragon Spring Holy Water.' Originally named 'Ganquan Temple,' its history can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty's Yonghui period (650–655 AD), spanning over 1,300 years, making it one of the oldest temples in northwestern Sichuan. Ancient texts record that 'the holy water falls a thousand times' and 'drinking it can cure diseases and prevent disasters,' hence the name holy water. In the first year of the Ming Dynasty's Zhengtong era (1436), Shengshui Temple was built but later fell into ruin. In 1989, the Mianyang City Government approved the reconstruction of Shengshui Temple, led by the monk Shi Guoren. Following the overall planning of combining temple, garden, and tourism, a series of magnificent halls and various supporting facilities were built, including an antique mountain gate, the Mahavira Hall, the Ksitigarbha Hall, the Jade Buddha Hall, the Three Saints Hall, the Great Compassion Hall, the Guanyin Hall, and the bell and drum towers, restoring the ancient temple's grandeur. The many Buddha statues enshrined in the halls are exquisitely crafted, with varied expressions, showcasing exceptional skills; the three large jade Buddhas in the Jade Buddha Hall were gifts from Burmese Buddhist disciples and are extremely precious. In 1991, Shengshui Temple was listed as a provincial key temple. After further construction, pavilions, towers, and corridors were continuously improved, and the greening and beautification were upgraded. It has now become a large temple garden where Chinese and foreign tourists come to worship, admire the scenery, and relax. 🎟️Ticket Information: No reservation required, no admission fee. 💗Other tips: The carvings here are exquisitely beautiful and very photogenic, definitely an internet celebrity spot.
