Osaka 🇯🇵 Saikoji Temple

Shotengu Saieji Temple is the main temple of the Daisho Kōkiden Shrine, which was established by Egyōja, the founder of Shugendo, in the fourth year of Emperor Saimei (658). Since the Tenpyo period, it has received a decree from Emperor Shomu and has gathered believers as Jinguji Temple in Settsu Province. In the 19th year of the Meiji era, the separation of Shinto and Buddhism was achieved, and the name was changed from Jinguji Temple to Shotengu Saieji Temple. From the fresh green of spring to the red leaves of autumn, the grounds are covered with various types of maple trees. From December to May, various camellias bloom one after another. It is a famous spot known to everyone who knows it.
