Inokashira Benzaiten

#Touring2024 I went to worship on my cross bike. It takes about an hour and a half one way from Shinjuku. The bright red building that stands out among the green trees is Inokashira Benzaiten, which was founded long before the Edo period began. Benzaiten or Benten-sama is the god of water, protector of the Kanda River water source, and the patron deity of music and performing arts, and was worshiped by Edo townspeople. At the top of the steep stone steps on the approach to the shrine, there is a purple lantern and another pair of stone lanterns, which were donated by Edo townspeople. It seems that it was a great place for Edo people to spend a day. Regarding bicycle parking, there is a free bicycle parking lot within Inokashira Park.
