PARADISE OF KERALA

Munnar is a beautiful hill station in Kerala. Located in Idukki district, we will fall in love with Munnar at the very first experience. Munnar is located in the Western Ghats. The name Munnar came from the association of three rivers namely Madhurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kandali. This place is very close to Tamil Nadu. An accidental cultural fusion can be seen in the people and culture of Munnar. Munnar is also very famous outside Kerala. Foods from within and outside the country reach this hill every year. Munnar's importance as a holiday destination dates back to colonial times. The British were the first to realize the potential of Munnar's pleasant climate and beautiful scenery. Thus Munnar became the resort of British officials in South India. The British found it a suitable place for tea cultivation and started tea plantations here. Initially, the residents here were laborers and British officials who came to work in the plantations. Many bungalows built for Britishers can still be seen in Munnar. Munnar is still prominent among the entertainment centers of Kerala. It goes without saying that Munnar is one of Kerala's pride in the tourism sector, with a climate that cannot be experienced in many places in Kerala, beautiful nature and innumerable species. In 2000, Kerala government declared Munnar as a tourist destination. Munnar is located at an altitude of about 1600-1800 meters above sea level. More than just a tourist destination, it is a place with many things to see and understand. Munnar is a paradise for nature lovers. Innumerable species of plants, birds, animals, rarely seen flowering plants, tea plantations, forests, wildlife sanctuaries, fresh water streams have everything a nature lover could wish for. Sights of Munnar Munnar has many possibilities for those who come to celebrate the holidays. Sightseeing in Munnar is something that can be thoroughly enjoyed. The main reason for this is the mild climate. This is the reason why Munnar is a favorite location for those who travel to higher places by bike and those who prefer trekking. There are excellent trekking and biking trails here. Those who like to enjoy the beauty of the vast grasslands have as many places as they like. Bird watching is one of the main pastimes in Munnar. It is home to many species of birds. There is no doubt that Munnar will offer a heavenly experience to honeymooners, young people who want to indulge in adventure and those traveling alone. Trekking and biking in Munnar Iravikulam National Park is one of the main attractions of Munnar. The national park is notable for being home to the Nilgiri Thar, an indigenous species found only in the Nilgiri Meghalaya. The highest mountain in South India, Anamudi, is also within this national park. Trekking at a height of 2700 meters can be done in Anamudi, only after obtaining permission from the forest department. Mattupetti is 13 km from Munnar and is also a major tourist destination.
