30 Hours in Nagoya

Nagoya is an old name, but a new city, easy to remember. Nagoya Station is in the west, the castle is in the north, and further north is Meijo Park. Osu Kannon is in the south, and Tokugawa Garden is in the far northeast. I stayed in the middle of Nagoya for one night. It was already 3 pm when I arrived on the first day, and I hurried to catch the bus to Tokugawa Garden, the garden related to Tokugawa Ieyasu. The garden is small, but I lingered in the sunset and forgot the time. When I remembered the castle, I hurried to catch the train, hoping to see its glory in the sunset before Nagoya Castle closed. Instead, I was greeted by crows and tourists leaving one after another. Early the next morning, I rushed to the antique market at Osu Kannon, and with a heavy harvest, I walked from south to north again. The splendor of the Honmaru Palace under Nagoya Castle did not dazzle me. The coolness of the slippers came up from below, and the limited heating of the wooden structure's safety requirements made it impossible to stay. Instead, the big fish in the moat outside Nagoya Castle were leisurely and free, looking around in the sun. Further away, the boys in Meijo Park were throwing balls, and the sound of collisions and laughter came from time to time. Under the bushes next to them, the fallen leaves had already formed a thick layer. A little girl, with a puppy, was chasing them wantonly. The puppy was attracted by the fallen leaves blown by the breeze, pounced on them, as if it had caught the monster of time, rolled over, let go of its paws, and pounced on another fallen leaf... I took a nap in the sun, and time stopped magically around me, as if I had returned to my childhood, to the free time with my playmates. Japan has a magical spell. When you sit by the river in a daze, it seems that time will stop. When you stop to observe, it seems that the world will quiet down. When you take off your clothes and take a bath, you can hear the sound of snowflakes hitting the water... And when you pick up your backpack and walk, the world becomes noisy...
