The Nanjing City Wall can mainly be entered from the following gates for sightseeing: 1-Shence Gate: Also known as 'Peace Gate', it is one of the thirteen city gates of the Nanjing Ming Dynasty imperial city wall. The existing Shence Gate barbican is the only external barbican of the Nanjing City Wall, with extremely high historical value. 2-Xuanwu Gate: Located on the west side of Xuanwu Lake, the city wall winds southward along the lake. Here, one can admire the beautiful lake and mountain scenery as well as the majestic grandeur of the city wall.
