Gulou Park

✅ The geographical center of Nanjing's ancient city is Gulou, where there is an inconspicuous small park called Gulou Park, located on the west side of the Gulou roundabout. The park is named after Gulou. ✅ I have seen old photos from the Republic of China, and Gulou was originally a bare city platform, surrounded by emptiness. Now this high city platform was built in the Qing Dynasty, and there is also a Kangxi Shengyu Stele. There is a drum tower on the city platform, which was originally a wooden building. The current drum is not from the Ming Dynasty. ✅ The drum tower also preserves timekeeping tools such as large and small drums, and many flowers, plants, and trees are planted around the city platform, with rockeries on the south side. About 200 meters north of the drum tower is the Zifeng Tower (the tallest building in Jiangsu), and the eye-catching red walls of the drum tower and the shiny exterior walls of the Zifeng Tower have a dazzling reflection, giving a sense of ancient and modern times in the same frame. ✅ There are several ginkgo trees in Gulou Park, and in the late autumn season, they are golden and brilliant, with the red outer wall of the drum tower on one side, which is very beautiful. In recent years, the park has been crowded with people checking in, competing to lean against the red wall or the ginkgo trees to take photos, and some people live stream here. ✅ On an autumn afternoon, the sun shines, and ancient Nanjing and contemporary Nanjing blend here.
