Shirakawa-go is also famous for its "Gassho-zukuri" style, but this style is called "Irimoya-zukuri" and has a very different roof🏠 As the name suggests, "Gassho-zukuri" has a roof that looks like the hands are praying together when facing the front of the house, but "Irimoya-zukuri" has a roof that turns 90 degrees from the front of the house and extends on all four sides!
