Who says adults can't be kids too? My experience in a family suite at the Lhasa Evergrande Hotel.

On day 45 of my 101-day Sichuan-Yunnan-Tibet Grand Circle Tour, I continued my stay in the picturesque town of Lulang, but switched hotels from the Pearl River International to the Evergrande Hotel. The hotel's architecture is also Tibetan-style. The common areas are more attractive than those of the Pearl River International, and it's closer to the town center. The entrance is right at the start of the lakeside boardwalk, making it more convenient for strolling. Since it was the winter off-season, the hotel was partially closed. Guest rooms are distributed among several independent Tibetan-style manor houses, but only one building was open. It was quite convenient to park right in front, but the lake-view suites I wanted weren't available. I ended up choosing a family suite on the first floor with a small courtyard and a partial lake view. Although the hotel only had two staff members—a receptionist and a restaurant manager—they maintained a high level of service. The opulent lobby and common area design reflect Evergrande's past glory. It's a shame that real estate is ultimately just a bubble, as Japan 30 years ago already demonstrated. The suite is advertised as 100 square meters. Upon entering, the guest bathroom is on the left, and a screen provides some privacy. The living room is quite spacious, with a high ceiling, a dining table for four, a seating area, and two oxygen concentrators, which the Pearl River International didn't have. If you experience altitude sickness in Lulang, this hotel is a good option. The minibar is fully equipped with Dilmah tea bags, a capsule coffee machine, and a welcome fruit platter. The living room doesn't have any special child-friendly features, but the bedroom has a rubber ducky theme. In addition to the eye-catching bedding, there's a small tent, a small sofa, and various toys. The walk-in closet is tucked away in the corner and includes children's slippers and bathrobes. The bedroom has floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides, but they face a small square that's often crowded with tourists, so privacy on the first floor isn't great. The lake is visible from the private courtyard. The main bathroom has double sinks, a bathtub, and child-friendly toilet seats, making it suitable for families. Hot water is readily available throughout the suite, and the heating is efficient. Overall, it's a good choice in Lulang.
