Rent a motorcycle and explore Southern Laos with international friends 🇱🇦 When talking about Southern Laos, a few things come to mind: - Ziplining with a view of the waterfalls and enjoying a thrilling coffee experience - Tasting Bolaven Plateau coffee - Riding a motorcycle around the Bolaven Loop 👍 For this trip, we booked tickets with trip.com to Ubon Ratchathani and then crossed over to rent a vehicle in Laos. 🌏 Must-visit attractions: ✅ Tad Yuang Waterfall 💧🌧️ ✅ Coffee and Tea Km40 Cafe 🍵 ✅ Tad Fane Waterfall Zipline Zipline only: 1,100 THB, Photo fee: 250 THB ✅ Tad Champi Waterfall, quite a long walk 👍 These three waterfalls are in the same area, so you should visit all three. ✅ Tad Tayicseua Waterfall is the farthest on this trip. The path is long and steep, not suitable for the elderly, but we loved it. The view of the waterfall with beautiful flower fields is amazing. The road is very rough, with a lot of red dirt and dust. 📌 Important Information ✅ To visit Southern Laos, exit through Chong Mek checkpoint in Ubon Ratchathani province. ✅ For those using public transportation like buses or vans, you can get off at Chong Mek. 🛵 Bus schedule: Ubon - Pakse 09:30 / 15:30 Pakse - Ubon 08:30 / 15:30 🗺️ Van schedule: Ubon - Chong Mek 100 THB, departs every 30 minutes to 1 hour (until full) ➡️ Thai side checkpoint: Chong Mek ➡️ Laos side checkpoint: Vang Tao ➡️ Thai citizens need only a passport. - If you don't have a passport, you can get a border pass for a 3-day visit. 📱 SIM cards can be bought near the checkpoint. Look for vendors or ask around. Use Lao Telecom. 💸 We exchanged some money at the checkpoint. Some places accept Thai Baht. 🛵 We rented a vehicle from KP Car Rental Pakse. You can ask the van from Vang Tao to drop you off at the rental shop. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a great view and a swimming pool. Highly recommended. Good price, including breakfast.
