Ayutthaya: Amidst the hustle and bustle of the world, as the sun sets and the journey comes to an end, the glory of a hundred years is but a fleeting cloud of smoke.

Starting from Bangkok, it takes about 80-90 kilometers by car to reach here. However, to fully explore the ancient city, it took almost a week, not because there are too many attractions, but because of the weight of history, the desolation and bleakness of the present, and the many past glories that are difficult to digest. Among them, the famous Buddha head in the tree roots alone is enough to keep you occupied for several days. ♥️♥️ About history: Ayutthaya can be considered as the birthplace of ancient civilization in Thailand. At its peak, the population reached over one million. Unfortunately, this glorious history was destroyed by Burma in 1767. All the palaces and temples in the city were burned down, leaving only the ruins we see today. Even now, scenes of the invasion can still be seen in the murals inside the Grand Palace, filled with a sense of sadness. ♥️♥️ About mystery: When we went, we chose a night time and quietly entered the Mahathat Temple to play. The ruins were extremely quiet, and a wild dog that probably lived here accompanied us all the way without making a sound. When we walked to a stupa and peeked inside, it was pitch black. Suddenly, hundreds of bats rushed out at lightning speed, carrying an ancient smell. It was a black mass that lasted for several minutes. The tower was empty and nothing could be seen. Escort us all the way to the end of the trip, the dog only returned to the temple, lying quietly at the corner of the wall, watching us leave. So friendly, so warm, hundreds of bats that don't know where they went, and the ancient mysterious power of Wat Mahathat has also been experienced. ♥️♥️ About the tree wrapped around the Buddha's head: A Buddha head and the bottom of a banyan tree are integrated, with the Buddha head tightly wrapped by the roots of the banyan tree. This wonderful landscape is said to have formed when Myanmar dropped the Buddha head under the Bodhi tree many years ago, and the Buddha head and tree roots grew together. One eye of the Buddha head is slightly open, while the other is tightly closed, as if washing away the lead and watching the changes in the world peacefully. People from all over the world come to see it, and it is said that through the eyes of the Buddha head, you can see your own heart clearly.
