It was founded in the sixth year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1856) and closed in the second year of the Republic of China (1913). The owners were the Wang family from Nidian, Yuci, and the Mi family from Wangzhi Village, Pingyao. Xietongqing Bank has very distinctive business features, mainly focusing on people and knowing how to employ people. The architecture of Xietongqing Bank is very representative, with exquisite decoration and great ornamental value. It is also the largest bank courtyard in Pingyao. Xietongqing has a total of seven courtyards. The layout of the underground vault is very clear, with multiple cellars built on both sides to store gold and silver.
